About Me
Hey guys! My name is Rachel, and I’m a Senior in high school in Maryland. I am a drum major and I love it! I will be heading off to college to study music education with a minor in business fall of 2012.
My main instrument is euphonium, and I’m a 4 time all-state and 5 time all-county player. I also play trombone, piano, bass, and a bit of trumpet.
I have marched in my high school marching band since freshman year when I started on baritone. My sophomore year I was low brass section leader, and for my junior and senior seasons, the drum major.
I attended Drum Major Academy and use it as a guide for life. I marched in the 2010 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade with the Macy’s Great American Marching Band and I am slated to perform with them once again in 2011.
I have not marched drum corps, but I am huge admirer of everything those in the activity do. I plan on auditioning for Jersey Surf next season.
